Reviving Classical Tradition

A continuation of ancient Yogic tradition of forest-dwelling spiritual sanctuaries — places where seekers come not to escape, but to awaken.

Located in Pauri Garhwal, just 27 kilometers from Rishikesh, the Jungle Ashram is a sacred space for immersion in Yogic life and remote nature, far from the rhythms of modernity & consumerism

Here, seekers return to the simplicity of daily practice, the guidance of lineage, and the healing presence of untouched nature.

This Ashram is not a resort. It is a living outdoor classroom, a place of Sādhanā, and a mirror for the vastness of the Self

Land of the Gods: Devbhūmi and the Yogic Himalaya

Dr. Yogrishi Vishvketu

The Sri Akhanda Jungle Ashram is situated in Uttarakhand, traditionally known as Devbhūmi, or The Land of the Gods.

This region holds profound spiritual and historical significance:

Rishikesh is widely regarded as the birthplace of Yoga.

It has served for millennia as a gateway to the Himalayas

The sacred Gaṅgā River flows through these hills, bearing the vibrational memory of untold mantras, rituals, and acts of surrender.

Ashrams are frequently mentioned in scriptures such as the Mahābhārata, Rāmāyaṇa, and Upaniṣads — as centres not only for meditation, but for study, healing, Ayurveda, and service.

Our Ashrams and Retreats are rooted in tradition, and offered in service to modern seekers who long for authentic connection.

Akhanda brings together all paths of Yoga for a truly holistic Yogic experience

The Purpose of the Jungle Ashram

This Ashram was envisioned by Dr. Yogrishi Vishvketu as a place for:
Longer-term sādhanā, for those desiring a deeper immersion
An environment supporting physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
Restoration of Ashram culture, with ecological simplicity and rhythm
Where nature becomes the teacher, and inner rest is the focus
